Dogwood Miniature Study is a mixed-media botanical artwork created as part of my Blooming Marvelous May and Miniature May art challenges. Inspired by the distinctive shape of the flowering dogwood, this miniature composition combines traditional drawing techniques with digital refinement.
The artwork features a cream-colored dogwood bloom surrounded by layered foliage and stylized botanical patterns. Rather than focusing solely on realism, I explored decorative shapes, texture, and contrast to create a piece that celebrates both the flower itself and the artistic process behind it.
The original artwork was created using mechanical pencil, colored pencil, India ink pen, and acrylic paint pen. Final adjustments and presentation edits were completed using Snapseed and Procreate.
