Orebound Husky Guardian ⚒️🐺

This piece explores the concept of strength and endurance through the form of a Siberian Husky, set against a rugged ore-inspired hex background. Inspired by Settlers of Catan, the artwork represents the ore resource—symbolizing resilience, structure, and the foundational materials that support growth and progress.

The husky was chosen for its natural association with endurance and survival in harsh environments. Its posture and expression are designed to reflect stability and determination, reinforcing the visual theme of something forged under pressure.

Process & Materials

This work combines traditional media with digital refinement:

Stuart Semple Super Base (base layer)
White 2.0 acrylic paint (contrast and highlights)
POSCA acrylic paint pens (linework and detailing)
Mattifying membrane coat varnish (final seal)
Digital enhancement in Snapseed and Procreate

The goal was to maintain a tactile, hand-crafted feel while achieving a clean, high-contrast final presentation suitable for print.

Series Context

This artwork is part of a larger Custom Settlers of Catan Dog Hex Series, where each resource tile is interpreted through a dog breed that embodies its characteristics. The ore hex focuses on durability, strength, and long-term stability.
