The Kansas River Flood of 1903

The Kansas River Flood of 1903 is a mixed-media illustration created for Episode 4 of The Biography of Earl Dewey Fisher. Inspired by Earl's firsthand memories of the historic 1903 Kansas River Flood near Topeka, the artwork depicts the unforgettable moment when he and his siblings watched a house drift down the flooded river.

Created primarily with colored pencil, alongside India ink, mechanical pencil, fine liner pen, and acrylic paint pen, this piece combines traditional techniques with historical storytelling. It is part of my ongoing project illustrating Earl Dewey Fisher's complete autobiography.
