A Barker’s of Ruin Character Moment
Pulled from the Current depicts a narrative moment from the world of Barker’s of Ruin—the instant a Labradoodle is rescued from a raging river, suspended between fear and trust, before they become a defined party member.
Rather than focusing on stats or archetypes, this piece captures the moment of transition: survival giving way to possibility. It’s a character introduction told through circumstance rather than design.
🎨 Medium & Process
Watercolor pencils, activated with water
Acrylic paint pen for outlines and structure
Traditional mixed-media illustration
The loose watercolor textures were intentionally left expressive to convey movement and instability, while the acrylic paint pen anchors the character within the chaos of the scene.
