Badly Raccooned is a digital illustration created in Procreate, developed as part of the Woof&Wyrm.exe tabletop-inspired universe. The piece represents one of eight possible mini-games that can occur during Phase One of a two-part boss battle against the trickster villain Catrick the Cheat.
The artwork translates game mechanics into visual storytelling, drawing inspiration from:
Classic playing cards as a foundational system
Old Maid–style tension, where being left with the wrong outcome matters
Herd mentality dynamics, encouraging players to follow the group—sometimes to their own detriment
Visually, the raccoon is designed to feel expressive, mischievous, and slightly untrustworthy, mirroring the uncertainty and social pressure present in the encounter. Bold shapes and controlled color choices were used to keep the character readable and emblematic, while reinforcing the idea of chaos masked as familiarity.
This piece is part of an ongoing effort to explore how tabletop mechanics, probability, and narrative structure can be represented through character-driven illustration.
