💥 TNT Tabbies – Phase One Encounter Against Catrick the Cheat

TNT Tabbies is a character illustration from my original dog-themed fantasy TTRPG universe Woof&Wyrm.exe, created as part of the ongoing Savior Over Sin art series.

This piece represents a Phase One boss encounter against Catrick the Cheat, a villain known for manipulating the rules of tabletop-style games mid-battle.

Instead of initiating direct combat, Catrick forces the heroes to play a rigged version of Exploding Kittens. However, rather than using a traditional Exploding Kittens deck, each hero must play using a standard deck of playing cards that have been enhanced with special effects from Barker’s of Ruin.

🃏 Dual-Use Card System

Each playing card may be used in one of two ways:

Barker’s of Ruin Style:
Use the card for its suit-based tactical ability tied to a hero’s combat role.

Exploding Kittens Style:
Use the card as an Exploding Kittens-type action such as skipping turns, forcing additional draws, redirecting effects, or avoiding hazards.

Cards may be played using either Barker’s of Ruin mechanics or Exploding Kittens-style effects — but never both at the same time.

Standard draw rules apply, and each player draws one card at the end of their turn, steadily increasing the likelihood of triggering dangerous effects hidden within familiar suits.

This encounter emphasizes the balance between tactical consistency and chaotic survival — ultimately setting the stage for Phase Two of the boss fight: Undead Tabbies.
