Full Speed Joy – Pitbull Running

“Full Speed Joy” is a mixed media illustration capturing the energy, motion, and emotional presence of a Pitbull running toward the viewer.

The goal of this piece was to translate a fleeting, high-energy moment into a static image—focusing on forward motion, expressive posture, and a sense of connection between subject and viewer.

Pitbulls are often misrepresented, so this work emphasizes their true nature: joyful, loyal, and full of life. The composition, color choices, and linework were all designed to reinforce that sense of movement and personality.

Process Breakdown:
1. Sketch & Structure

The piece began with a traditional sketch using mechanical pencil and kneaded eraser, focusing on gesture and motion. Special attention was given to the forward momentum and body alignment to create a dynamic, approaching perspective.

2. Linework & Color Application

Using acrylic paint pens, I developed bold outlines and introduced vibrant color. The goal here was to balance structure with expressive energy—keeping the form readable while allowing the color to enhance movement.

3. Digital Enhancement

The final stage involved subtle digital refinement using Snapseed and Procreate. Adjustments were made to contrast, color balance, and overall clarity while preserving the integrity of the traditional media.
